In this Facebook post, an anti-vaccine group is sharing a post by British doctor Aseem Malhotra, who is controversial due to making unfounded and distorted claims about mRNA vaccines. He claims that mRNA is very likely the cause of unexpected cardiac arrests, strokes, and other cardiovascular issues. According to the CDC, however, there is no data supporting these claims. https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/73/wr/mm7314a5.htm#:~:text=and%20young%20adults.-,Implications%20for%20Public%20Health%20Practice,19%20and%20complications%2C%20including%20death.

The comments on the Facebook post amplify the misinformation, some have even made claims of 5G-vaccine conspiracy theories.
The concept of “immunity to evidence” is demonstrated here because of the countless debunking done by respected scientific and medical experts. This is an example of a social media echo chamber, which is where polarization increases.
