In many cases if you undergo a surgery of, doctors will prescribe you opioids as a pain reliever. In this article we see that in North America the current opioid crisis was affecting communities across the region because of this illicit drug. Although the treatment of opioids for many individuals have a successful outcome, but for others it is critical to have an alternate treatments for people who struggle with the use of this illicit drug. We see in some cases the use of this drug can lead to overdoses or even death. In more research they are developing a transdermal fentanyl which provides long lasting and a stable treatment, which should be explored more as an options as an opioid agonist treatment. We see in this article contradictory because of the option they are developing in hopes it will treat patience equally to an opioid would but will be ultimately up to that person to decide if they would partake. In persecuted victims this drug is very addictive and can lead to an overdose or death if not used correctly.
