The Horrifying Images Are Real. But They’re Not From the Israel-Gaza War

This second option is also from the New York Times. This article discusses the recent Israel-Gaza War. It is very easy to see the photos of this tragic fighting online, and to hear about the atrocities that are currently happening, but this article talks about all the fake stuff that is mixed in there as well. There are emotion evoking images being spread online by many people. Many of them are from completely unrelated events, such as the Syrian war. Although this war is also tragic, it is undermining what is currently happening in this Israel-Gaza war. This can lead to confusion and skepticism on actual events that people should be aware of. Due to the confusing nature of whether this is intentional or not, many under informed people continue to spread these images on any social media platforms that they can in an attempt to mislead or to attempt to spread what they think is important information. This is definitely reinterpreting evidence, due to how easy it could be for someone out of the loop to spread this misinformation by mistake. It could also be immunity to evidence. As mentioned before, some people don’t know if these images are real or not, so they take what they see and cement it as fact.
